Robert Flynn, Managing Partner
Robert Flynn is Managing Partner, United Brokers Group LLC, and is a licensed Rhode Island real estate salesperson. He has been a business brokerage firm owner for nine years, and understands how to buy and sell a business. Prior to that period he was a Senior Executive in two public and privately held technology and manufacturing businesses for twenty-eight years. He has owned five businesses. Robert received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Rhode Island in 1977, where he was a member of two national honor societies. He attended the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences of Harvard University as a Special Student in 1982 and received a Master of Liberal Arts from the Harvard University Extension School in 1984.
From 1982 to 1996 Robert was a Senior Executive at the publicly traded +$3 billion (USD) London-based Cookson Group. He managed technology and manufacturing companies in England and the United States with a particular emphasis on startup and turnaround situations.
He was President of the Cookson Group company Key-Tech, Inc., a patented plastics technology company with operations in Rhode Island and England. Robert acquired Key-Tech from Cookson in 1996, turned it around by structuring it as a licensing entity, and ultimately sold it to another publicly traded company in Europe. He is a founding member of “The Manufacturing Summit”, Rhode Island’s leading manufacturing policy organization, and oversaw its daily operations. An acknowledged authority in economic development matters particularly in manufacturing and technology he has been featured or quoted in numerous regional and national articles. He created and had passed into Rhode Island law five manufacturing and economic development statutes. Other Board memberships and Trustee positions, present and past, include Business Brokers Association of New England, the federally financed Rhode Island Manufacturing Extension Services, Trans Performance, The Rhode Island Export Center at Bryant University, Key-Tech, Inc., American Diabetes (Rhode Island affiliate), and “Save The Bay” which is New England’s largest environmental organization.
Mia Caetano Johnson, Director of Mergers & Acquisitions
With more than 12 years of business law experience, Mia Caetano Johnson, J.D., expertly assists clients in all phases of business sales and acquisitions, financing, real estate transactions, and other business services. Prior to affiliating with United Brokers Group LLC, Mia served as in-house counsel in the private sector with a major publicly traded company as well as with start-up entities to help establish and grow their businesses. She was also counsel in several law firms, including Hinckley Allen & Snyder in Providence, and Sullivan & Worcester in Boston. Currently, Mia also owns a business and real estate law firm, Johnson Law Associates.
Mia works with clients on acquisitions and sales ranging in size and structure in various industries from Main Street to Wall Street, and understands the complexities in buying or selling a business. She has represented clients in a variety of corporate and real estate acquisitions and transactions, public and private debt and equity financings, and has assisted clients in ongoing corporate governance, regulatory, and operational matters. She specializes in complex transactions with real estate.
Mia holds memberships in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Bar Associations and the Rhode Island Association of Realtors, Kent Washington Association of Realtors, and Statewide MLS. She holds a real estate brokers license in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Active in the Republican Party of Rhode Island, currently serves as the organization’s assistant general counsel, and served as its general counsel from 2006-2007. From 2005 to 2007, Mia led the R.I. Young Republicans as its Chairperson. A native of Warwick, R.I., where she lives with her husband Eric and two sons, Mia is a graduate of Rocky Hill School and Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. She went on to earn a Juris Doctor from Albany Law School, the nation’s oldest independent school of law.

Nancy is a licensed realtor and former owner of a manufacturing business. She is focused geographically at growing the UBG model in South County, Rhode Island, New York, and Georgia.
She is a long time sales professional in real estate & development. A graduate of the University of Miami with an interim year in Florence, Italy she is a natural advocate for real estate and business. Beginning her career in Savannah, Georgia as a builder / developer she has expanded her expertise to the New England area becoming a resident of Westerly, Rhode Island in the late 80’s. As a real estate consultant identifying properties for development, arranging private equity financing, supervision and management of construction are all areas which Nancy has been very actively involved. Geoff's background includes over 20 years of experience in Sales, Sales Management, and Executive Recruiting for the High Technology and movie post-production arenas. His clients included The Walt Disney Company, Eastman Kodak, Industrial Light and Magic, and Digital Domain (founded by the director James Cameron) the VFX studio that earned an Oscar for Titanic. His management experience includes several years with Agfa/Miles where he was responsible for major technology license agreements with OEMs such as Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Matsushita and Commodore.
